Illustrations of "Legends from Swiss Alps"

„Legends from the Swiss Alps” is a book compiled by the University of Zurich and the Lingnan University in Hong Kong. The book is composed of 72 Swiss legends, which are translated in Chinese and English and illustrated with drawings of the Swiss artist Julia Steiner. The black and white drawings make you immerse in the world of the Swiss Alps and allow you to build up their very own story.

Julia Steiner grew up in Switzerland and studied Applied Art and Art History in Berne and Berlin. For her art work she received several international grants and awards, among which are the Swiss Art Award in 2009 and the Manor Art Award in 2010. Furthermore, she also participated in the artist residency program and held her solo exhibition at Galerie Urs Meile in Beijing. A selection of her drawings “Legends from the Swiss Alps” will be exhibited within the next two weeks here at our premises.
