swissnex China Cleantech Exchange Grant
During the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai "Water Management", "Sustainable Construction" and "Mobility and Air Quality" were the main topics of the Future Cities Conference Week which took place at the Swiss Pavilion. The conference was organized by swissnex China in cooperation with ETH Zurich and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
As a follow up of the conference swissnex China decided to offer a financial support for potential exchanges between Swiss and Chinese partners involved in clean technology projects and therefoer created the swissnex China Cleantech Exchange Grant. The grant offers financial support to promising collaborations between Swiss and Chinese partners: researchers and professionals working in private or public sector who have the strong desire to find solutions for a better environment and build up sustainable collaborations between Switzerland and China.
The call for the swissnex China Cleantech Exchange Grant was sent to the participants of the Future Cities Conference Week in June 2011 and the two following applicants have been selected by swissnex china.
Urban sanitation - from households to receiving waters
This project is organized between the Eawag, the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, the Swiss Federal Office of Environment and the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Eawag and RCEES research institutes are leaders in the field of water management and they see the potential in a collaboration in research, implementation and technology development. The planned exchange workshop in spring 2012 shall offer the platform to discuss about their common needs for research, development and technology implementation, future partners, in particular from industry and define conceptual framework for a joined proposal.
