18 Jan, ETH Zurich project "Realize"
Last year in November, swissnex China reported about the Realize project of the Mechanical Engineering students from ETH Zurich. 2 ETH Zurich students came to Tongji University to research on the feasibility of cost-cutting of the Omniwheel of the “Rezero” robot, which balances itself on a ball.
After 4 months, Michael Neunert and Fabio Diem, the 2 ETH Zurich students have successfully completed their project in China, with the support of 3 Chinese students and Prof. Zhou Aiguo, their supervisor from School of Mechanical Engineering at Tongji University. Prof. Roland Siegwart, Vice President of ETH Zurich and their Swiss professor came to Tongji on January 14, 2012 to conclude this project and visit the university. Prof. Siegwart met with the Vice President of Tongji University Prof. Dong Qi, and expressed his wish to continue such cooperation. Thanks to Prof. Lou Yongqi, Vice Dean of Tongji School of Design&Innovation, Prof. Siegwart also toured around the impressive Aalto-Tongji Design Factory.
